Safeguarding

All members of staff are responsible for the safeguarding and protection of all children who attend the school.

Mrs Helen Sharkey (Headteacher) is the Designated Senior Person (DSP) for safeguarding and child-protection. In her absence, Mr Owain Jones or Mrs Wendy Owen are responsible.

The Designated Governor for Child Protection is Mrs Sara Brown.

All school staff receive annual training in matters of safeguarding and child protection. Where concerns arise, the staff will refer to the Designated Senior Person (DSP) in the first instance, or to the Deputy DSP in her absence. Staff will refer to the county’s safeguarding officers where advice or further support is needed.

Where parents have concerns relating to any aspect of their children’s well-being, they should contact the school to discuss. Where there are concerns relating to child protection, contact should be made with Mrs Sharkey immediately.

Any safeguarding concerns relating to the Headteacher should be raised with the Chair of Governors, Non Gwilym.
