Welcome
Inspire – Support – Achieve
Welcome to our website. Whether you are already part of our school community or are thinking of joining us for the first time, we hope you find our website interesting and informative. We also hope that you feel that it is a true reflection of our school ethos and the variety of opportunities our school has to offer.
Ysgol Gynradd Gwaelod y Garth Primary School is a successful community school where the well-being and needs of children always come first. We want all our children to be happy and safe, to have fun as they learn and to be inspired. We have a dedicated and enthusiastic team of staff and governors who ensure that the school is a stimulating environment where children learn, thrive and flourish. We set high expectations and we aim to enable all our children to be confident and independent learners who reach for the stars and fulfil their full potential. We work closely with families to ensure this happens.
We are a dual-stream school which provides its pupils with education through the medium of Welsh or English, depending on parental choice. The collaboration between the Welsh and English streams is a unique feature of the school and equal status and importance is given to both languages.
We pride ourselves on being an inclusive school that nurtures and supports each and every child as valuable members of our school community. At the heart of everything we do is to enable our all our children to be confident and healthy individuals and to be effective learners, contributors and citizens, both now and in the future.
We are fortunate to be located at the heart of the Garth community and all it has to offer. We grasp opportunities for outdoor learning within our green school site and beyond and we take every opportunity to engage with our wider community. The nature, geography and history that surrounds us in our unique school is an important part of our curriculum.
We hope that our website provides you with an insight into some of the ways we approach teaching and learning and what makes our school so unique. Please contact our school office if you have any questions or would like to arrange an appointment to visit our school. There is always a warm welcome here!
