Ysgol sy'n Parchu Hawliau / Rights Respecting School

Beth yw Ysgol sy'n Parch Hawliau? What is a Rights Respecting School?

Fel rhan o nod ein hysgol i hyrwyddo ysgol hapus a llwyddiannus, rydym yn gweithio tuag at gydnabyddiaeth fel "Ysgol sy'n Parchu Hawliau". Mae hon yn wobr a roddir i ysgolion ar ran UNICEF.UNICEF yw'r sefydliad blaenllaw yn y byd sy'n gweithio i blant a'u hawliau. Yn 1989, addawodd llywodraethau ledled y byd yr un hawliau i bob plentyn trwy fabwysiadu Confensiwn Cenhedloedd Unedig ar Hawliau'r Plentyn (CRC). Mae'r hawliau hyn yn seiliedig ar yr hyn y mae angen i blentyn oroesi, tyfu, cymryd rhan a chyflawni eu potensial.Bydd y wobr 'Ysgol sy'n Parchu Hawliau' (RRSA) yn helpu ein disgyblion i dyfu i ddinasyddion ifanc hyderus, gofalgar a chyfrifol yn yr ysgol ac o fewn y gymuned ehangach. Drwy ddysgu am eu hawliau, mae plant hefyd yn dysgu am bwysigrwydd parchu hawliau pobl eraill.

As part of our school’s aims to promote a happy and successful school, we are working towards recognition as a “Rights Respecting School”. This is an award which is given to schools on behalf of UNICEF.

UNICEF is the world’s leading organisation working for children and their rights. In 1989, governments worldwide promised all children the same rights by adopting the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC). These rights are based on what a child needs to survive, grow, participate and fulfil their potential.

The ‘Rights Respecting School’ award (RRSA) will help our pupils to grow into confident, caring and responsible young citizens both in school and within the wider community. By learning about their rights children also learn about the importance of respecting the rights of others i.e. their responsibilities.

Our Super Ambassadors have done a great job in making sure all children and adults in our school know about children’s rights!

Our Super Ambassadors enjoyed meeting Sally Holland, Children’s Commissioner for Wales.
